The President of Nigeria and
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari according to updates will meet
with all the Service Chiefs today to discuss the battle against terrorism and
possible relocation of Command and Control Centre of the military to Maiduguri,
Borno
State capital. Other agendas to be discussed might include voluntary retirement of
Service Chiefs from office, so as to give way for new appointees.
It was gathered that the
directive of President Buhari as regards the relocation of the Command and
Control Centre to Maiduguri was not well received by factions of the military
high command. The Service Chiefs had earlier seen the directive as an attempt
to frustrate them out of office, hence the meeting for today. Hope its well handled! Our president has started working.
