Breast Cancer Patient Posts Facebook Picture That Could Save Lives

The picture (seen above) has received almost 70,000 shares and 43,000 likes since she first posted it on May 11.

A resident  of Manchester, U.K Lisa Royle last week posted a photo of her breast on Facebook. She included the following important message with the photo: "Please take time to look at your boobs. It could save your life."
Royle posted the image in order to raise awareness for breast cancer. She was recently diagnosed with the illness, and was scheduled to undergo a mastectomy right before taking the photo.
"I never thought I'd post a boob picture on Facebook but I thought I would before it gets chopped off next week," she wrote.
Royle's post has since gone viral, gaining thousands of comments from well-wishers and nearly 60,000 shares. On Monday night, her husband Craig reported that Lisa had her mastectomy successfully.

Craig says they've been "totally overwhelmed" by all the support, and that Lisa is doing well post-surgery. “This is absolutely amazing, thanks everybody who had liked or shared this. Together we can make people aware and kick cancer's ass. My wife is an absolute inspiration," he wrote on Facebook. We love that Lisa's courage and wonderful message has gone viral, and wish her a full recovery.
The first sign that led to her diagnosis. "Very subtle dimples underneath that could easily be missed when we're all rushing round getting ready in a morning," Royle wrote in the caption. "Please take time to look at your boobs. It could save your life?"
